At 8 am, your hotel pick-up marks the beginning of a captivating journey through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara, where a full-day game drive awaits. Despite its modest size (205 sq miles), this park boasts stunning landscapes and is renowned for its verdant acacia forest, towering figs, majestic mahogany trees, and a thriving population of baboons and blue monkeys. Among the permanent residents are giraffes, elephants, impalas, and an impressive herd of buffaloes. The lake itself teems with hippos.
The scenic beauty of Lake Manyara is indescribable, with the option to enhance your experience through additional activities such as a bike tour or a boat excursion. As the day unfolds, you'll return to camp for a delightful dinner.
It's worth noting that there's flexibility to adjust your accommodation level, either downgrading or upgrading. Additionally, there's the option to substitute Lake Manyara with Tarangire National Park or extend your itinerary by an extra day to explore both parks.
Following an early breakfast, embark on a journey toward the world's most renowned national park, the Serengeti. While the drive may be lengthy, it unfolds as a spectacular and unforgettable experience, especially for first-time observers. As you venture deeper into the Serengeti, the meaning of its name in the local language, "endless plains," becomes apparent. Encompassing 6,900 square miles (18,000 square km), the park showcases vast plains stretching to the horizon, challenging your senses and perception of distance.
The Serengeti is the epicenter of the great migration, hosting two million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelope species. For enthusiasts of big cats and formidable predators, it's the prime location to spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Numerous television scenes, including the famous River Crossings, have been captured in this extraordinary park.
Flexibility in your accommodation level is available, offering the option to either downgrade or upgrade according to your preferences.
On this day, we recommend an early wake-up call to embark on a morning game drive when the wildlife is most active and to witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises you'll ever experience. Following the game drive, we'll return to the camp for a satisfying brunch before heading to Ngorongoro, often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the Natural World.
The Ngorongoro Crater, spanning 102 square miles with 2,000-foot-high walls, resembles a modern-day Noah's ark. It is home to nearly every East African indigenous wildlife species, offering a rare opportunity to spot the elusive black rhino. The crater features a river, swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, a forest, and open plains. Renowned for hosting the world's largest elephants with impressive tusks, the Ngorongoro Crater stands as a true marvel of the natural world.
Arriving in Ngorongoro in time for a sundowner, you'll have the chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of the surroundings. As always, there's flexibility to adjust your accommodation level, with options to either downgrade or upgrade based on your preferences.
Commencing the day at the break of dawn, we will descend to the crater floor for a mesmerizing morning of wildlife observation in one of the most breathtaking locations on the planet. Following the game drive, a delightful picnic lunch awaits near the picturesque Hippo Lake. Subsequently, there will be an opportunity for a brief game drive before ascending the crater and departing from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to Arusha.
Anticipating a return to Arusha by approximately 5 pm, we remain flexible to accommodate specific flight schedules or unforeseen circumstances.
